[Labor] 2024 Tet/National Day vacation schedule

2023/12/07

On November 22, 2023, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (hereinafter referred to as the “Ministry of Labor”) issued Circular No.5015/TB-LDTBXH regarding the Tet/National Day holiday schedule, instructing the leave of workers other than national civil servants.

Tet holiday 2024: Employers can choose one of the following options (hereinafter, all will be expressed using the year, month, and day according to the solar calendar).

  • ①From February 9th (Friday) to February 13th (Tuesday), 2024
  • ②From Thursday, February 8th to Monday, February 12th, 2024
  • ③From Wednesday, February 7th to Sunday, February 11th, 2024
  • 2024 National Day Leave: Employers can choose one of the following options:

  • ①Sunday, September 1, 2024 and Monday, September 2, 2024
  • ②Monday, September 2, 2024 and Tuesday, September 3, 2024
  • Employers are required to notify workers of their 2024 Tet and National Day holiday schedules at least 30 days in advance. Additionally, if a worker’s weekly holiday falls on a public holiday, the employer must provide the worker with a compensatory day off on the next business day, pursuant to Article 111, Paragraph 3 of the Labor Law. In particular, the Ministry of Labor recommends that employers choose option 2 for 2024 Tet vacation (including compensatory time off) from February 8 to 14, 2024, which is consistent with the Tet vacation schedule for civil servants.

Each employer will be required to choose the vacation schedule that best suits them, depending on their circumstances and business plans, and will be required to notify workers by the above-mentioned period.
