May 13: Followership in Leadership

2026/05/07

5/13 Followership for leadership
For more details about the program, please click here.

Traditionally, leadership has often been viewed as the responsibility of the person at the top — the one who sets direction, makes decisions, and guides the organization forward. However, in today’s workplace, sustainable team performance depends not only on the capability of the leader, but also on the strength of the people who support them. Proactive followers who think independently, contribute actively, and create positive influence within the team play an equally important role in driving collective growth and success.
Followership, therefore, is far more than simply complying with instructions or supporting from behind. It is a core competency rooted in initiative and self-awareness – the ability to think independently while working collaboratively, to provide constructive perspectives while remaining supportive, and to move beyond individual responsibilities to actively contribute to the team’s and organization’s overall success.
Co-organized by I-GLOCAL and HRI Vietnam, this program offers a practical and well-balanced approach to both Leadership and Followership. From foundational mindsets to real-world applications such as assertive communication, initiative-taking, and organizational improvement, the program is designed to help participants better understand their roles and gradually strengthen their ability to create positive influence within the workplace.
More importantly, the program encourages a broader perspective on personal value – one that is not defined solely by holding a leadership position, but also by the ability to take initiative, contribute proactively, and inspire positive change through one’s everyday actions and responsibilities.
